Since i have chosen the Sepang House as my subject location, the type of people i imagine living in this house is everyone of all ages, families, bachelor and young couples. Okay, maybe not senior citizens, but if some of them digs it then okay go ahead! But mainly, I'm going for younger adult working market. Those between their late 20's to early 40's. This house has a very modern setting yet still looks warm and homely.
These is my journey to become an Interior Architect, my projects and ideas. Sharifah Nadia, 0320060, Taylor's University
My Malaysian Inspiration : Elenna Jamil
Elenna Jamil is a homegrown Malaysian architect who studied in Cardiff University. How i first got to know about her, was through my own backyard. No, i did not meet her in my garden or any of the sort, if that is what you are wondering. I got to know of her by Desa Mahkota School here near Bandar Menjalara. This school is located just behind my apartment, i would pass it almost everyday.
What is so special about the school you ask?
It is said that this school is to change the whole typology of a school's architecture. For one, classrooms are arranged in a single bank and have openings on the windward and leeward side to allow maximum cross ventilation as we are living in the tropics.

This was the building that got me interested in this architect. But this is the house that made me fall in love with her and her style

My Inspiraton, My Style, ME.
The next post we are required to express ourselves in the form of interior photography. What are the interior spaces or elements that inspire us, that gives a little insight to us as a designer.
I, myself have not found MY style. I am still learning and still finding my personal style. Over the years my style has varied, but still has some similarities to one another. Back in highschool, i use to love and i mean LOVE the whole balinese concept. Wide open spaces that open ups to a wide beautiful garden, minimal uses of walls to allocate space barriers. Here are some examples :
What i like the most about this concept is the incorporation of nature, the amount of wood used to make it warm and homely surrounded by greenery for a calming effect and soft but viberant colours to pick up the essence.

Then slowly i begin to like the concept of using wood, concrete and steel. Yes, it may look more manly, but to me it gives a certain feel of stylish-ness, minimalist and cool effect. here are a few photos that spoke out to me

What does Interior Architecture mean to me?
What does Interior Architecture mean to me? Well, interior architecture was not my first choice, at first I wanted to do patisserie. It has always been a hobby of mine to bake, I did it almost every weekend back in highschool
One day, while helping my mother with her clinic's renovation I thought to myself, why not try make a living out this? Back home every few years my mother would renovate a portion of the house and I would always be the one to help her. Once she bought a house here in KL, I was the one to help her design it. I've always found joy in designing and creating a space, be it permanent or not. Its the thought of designing for the people. For the feel of making people happy, creating a safe haven. It's to touch people in the smallest way to make the biggest difference.
